Food is a way

Langar is a Sikh tradition of free community meals, rooted in equality, hospitality and selfless service. Everyone is welcome, regardless of faith, background or circumstances.

Langar2GO is a Qarseva initiative led by IT’S POSSIBLE NOW CIC, a registered UK community interest company (Company No. 16430786). We are developing a mobile community food service that carries the spirit of langar into welcoming spaces across Britain.

Britain’s Sikh communities have a rich history of service, including military service. Through Langar2GO and Qarseva, we hope to build respectful connections with Sikh veterans, veterans of every background, their families, and people with disabilities or long-term health conditions.

Difability is our wider recognition and inclusion initiative. It celebrates different abilities and seeks to open pathways to participation, employment and enterprise. Veterans are welcome whether or not they identify as disabled.

DIFABILITY VETERANS RECOGNITION

Difability Veterans Recognition

Recognising service. Celebrating contribution. Creating opportunity.

Recognition

Our recognition programme is being developed to honour veterans for military service, community leadership and contributions after service. Disability is not required for recognition.

Opportunity

Where appropriate, we aim to connect veterans with inclusive employment, enterprise, volunteering and community participation.

Shared leadership

We are inviting expressions of interest from Sikh veterans, Gurdwaras, veterans’ organisations, disability advocates and other community representatives to help shape fair criteria.

How nominations are being developed

Our proposed nomination process will require the veteran’s consent, a description of their contribution and appropriate verification before any public recognition. Sensitive personal or medical information will not be required for general recognition.

We welcome advisory expressions of interest. Formal nominations and awards will open once criteria and verification procedures are confirmed; no partner endorsement is implied.

BEYOND THE MEAL

Our community vision extends beyond sharing a meal. Nuriqa is a separate, dignity-led clothing reuse platform helping pre-loved items find a new purpose. It shares our belief that practical support should respect the dignity and choices of every person.

Langar2GO, Qarseva and Nuriqa have distinct identities and operating arrangements. Opportunities for future collaboration will be announced when confirmed.
